On Saturday, October 12 the Cache la Poudre River National Heritage Area hosted the Poudre Pour Art & Culture Fest, an annual event celebrating our river corridor’s vibrant history and culture. This event was held from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the Windsor History Museum (Boardwalk Park) in Windsor, CO.

The Poudre Pour Art & Culture Fest is a family-friendly annual community event featuring live music and performances, visual and culinary arts, interactive educational exhibits and demonstrations, historic tours, and more.

This year, in partnership with Mexican American History Project: Greeley, we celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month, honoring the integral role Hispanic culture has played in the history of the heritage area.

Hispanic culture has been an integral part of the area’s heritage, influencing everything from the region's architecture to its cuisine, from its language to its music and dance. As we commemorate Hispanic Heritage Month, let's take the time to learn from the richness of the Hispanic culture in the Cache la Poudre River National Heritage Area.

Partnering with Mexican American History Project: Greeley allows us to address a gap in the history of the heritage area and provides a platform for Mexican Americans to tell their own story of intellectual, economic, and cultural impact that benefits the community at large.

Live music from local bands, Los Martinez Bros Band and Grupo Presidio, filtered through the venue all day. It was rare to see an empty dance floor! The bands were joined at the top of every hour by Diana Vasquez, who provided Latin dance lessons to attendees. The Ballet Folklorico” Orgullo Latino” also performed during the event, adding to the festivities.

The cultural village was a vibrant circle of interactive games and learning experiences for attendees. And the small food truck rally served a wide variety of delicious snacks throughout the event.

Nine craft brewers served tastes of their products and contended for the People’s Choice Award, sponsored by EPS Group | Northern Engineering, for the best pour of the Fest. This year, High Hops Brewery/The Heart Distillery took home the award.
