Poudre Trail, Fort Collins, CO 80524
One of the first farm settlements along the Cache la Poudre River is located near Old Town Fort Collins. The farm, settled in the 1860s by John G. and Emily Coy, had one of the earliest water rights from the Poudre River that dates back to 1865. The Coy Barn is still located on the property now owned by Woodward. The Coy-Hoffman farm is listed in Colorado State Register and National Register of Historic Properties. The barn went through an exterior restoration in 1995 through the State Historical Fund.
Tourism Information
Barn is located on private property and not accessible to the public. It is visible from the Poudre River Trail.
Wayside Sign
Fort Collins Natural Areas has an interpretative sign facing the Woodward complex and Barn. Also, there is a general Cache la Poudre River National Heritage Area wayside just south/east of the barn at the intersection of the Poudre Trail and Mulberry.
Directions
Address is 257 S. Lemay Avenue, Fort Collins. Park in the Home Depot or Walmart parking lots to the east and walk to the Poudre River Trail on the west side of Lemay Avenue. Continue west on the Trail until you come to the wayside sign.
