Built in 1866, the Taylor and Gill Ditch is among the earliest irrigation structures in the area still in operation today. It is also one of the shortest, as it only extends for two miles. It shares a quarter-mile of that distance with the Little Cache la Poudre Ditch. A Heritage Area interpretive sign can be viewed near the charthouse adjacent to Hwy 287-B in Laporte.
