This tour will visit some of the best dog-friendly patio spaces throughout the Cache la Poudre River National Heritage Area in Northern Colorado. Whether you’re sipping on a refreshing iced tea or savoring a tasty snack, these patios offer the perfect backdrop for both relaxation and socializing with your furry friend by your side. Each spot has its own unique charm, from rustic garden settings to sleek, modern terraces. You’ll find plenty of shade to keep you and your dog cool during the warm summer days. Summit Dog Training has also provided some resources to help your furry companion become the best brewery buddy ever! With the stunning scenery of Northern Colorado as your backdrop, these patios offer an inviting atmosphere for unwinding and making lasting memories.

Fort Collins

New Belgium Brewing Company

Founded in 1991 in Fort Collins, New Belgium Brewing Company has prioritized quality, innovation, and community engagement. A large outdoor patio with lawn games, shaded umbrella tables, and a stage for live music provides the perfect environment for enjoying the Colorado sun.

Ace Cafe

Located in the lobby and outside of the Armstrong Hotel, Ace Café showcases stellar craft cocktails and shared plates. Wednesday through Sunday, enjoy brunch (don’t skip the “Wafnut,” a hybrid waffle/doughnut). Lounge on the patio seven days a week surrounded by the vibrant energy of downtown.

Timnath

The Backyard Bird Chicken & Donuts

The first non-fast-food chain in Timnath, Backyard Bird is owned and operated by a local husband and wife team. Their vision for Backyard Bird whether at the restaurant or on the food trick, has been to offer a simple and tasty menu of chicken and donuts. Their restaurant has a small, gated patio space that adds to the comfortable atmosphere.

Timnath Beerwerks

Located in the historic Timnath Feed & Grain Building, this brewery has a rustic-modern feel. The taps change weekly as they rotate through small-batch, handcrafted ales and lagers. There is non-alcoholic options too. The patio features a deck with lots of table space, community fire pits, and a view of the mountains to the west. Well-behaved dogs are welcome on first floor of the taproom as well as the patio.

Windsor

Windsor Lake Coffee

Located on Main Street next to Windsor Lake, this shop provides a variety of coffee drinks, ice cream and breakfast items. The shaded sidewalk patio has tables to enjoy your morning treat before taking a walk around the lake. There is even an ice cream window to order a treat for both you and your pup!

Mash Lab Brewing

This small batch neighborhood brewery is focused on creativity and experimentation. With a laid-back vibe and friendly staff, it is a great place to try something new and chat with fellow beer enthusiasts. They also offer a variety of non-alcoholic beverages and food options for casual dining. The multi-tiered patio features live music, community fire spaces, and is dog friendly.

Greeley

The G.O.A.T. Sports Bar

A lively establishment for families and friends to come together for food, drinks and sports. With indoor and outdoor seating options, including a patio, guests can enjoy the atmosphere from anywhere. The 360° bar top offers access to an extensive menu, over 80 whiskeys, and 18 beers on tap, making it ideal for relaxation. Whether inside or on the patio, guests can catch all the action on numerous high-definition TVs.

Syntax Distillery

Located in the historically designated Greeley Elevator Building downtown, great dining, shopping, and entertainment is only a short walk away. There are two covered patios with barrel gardens where they grow many of the fresh herbs and vegetables used in their cocktail creations. Don’t drink alcohol? There are many non-alcoholic drink options and locally made nibbles like cheese, crackers, veggies, and various salsas.
